Matthew Coffey, Group Marketing Manager, was on hand to accept the award on behalf of C.E.O, Afzal Kahn at the Birmingham Made Me Awards Dinner on the 17th of June.
The judging panel recognised the significant investment Kahn Design has made in the West Midlands in both design and manufacturing as part of the WB12 Vengeance project.
Based on the current Aston Martin DB9 and the wide-bodied sports car will enter limited production later this year, with manufacturing taking place in Coventry with Aston Martin's blessing.
Styled to evoke “the silhouette of a sabretooth on the prowl,” the Vengeance has been “inspired by the Aston Martin designs of the 1980s and 90s.”
Reacting to the award, Afzal Kahn commented: “With the upcoming launch of our coach built coupe, the Vengeance, we are extremely proud to be flying the flag for British automotive design and manufacturing.
“We are particularly pleased to be producing the Vengeance in the West Midlands, a region steeped in British engineering history, but also with the best of twenty first century talent and infrastructure.
“We are delighted to be playing a part in the continuing economic growth of the region and we're looking forward to future design and manufacturing projects in the area.
“We are very grateful to all at Birmingham Made Me for supporting the work we are doing and honouring us with this award.”
